Hi Everyone! Here's What’s Happening This Week!
A Pursuit vehicle rolled off the road on the Columbia Icefield on Tuesday morning. One staff member was on board, carrying out a maintenance check, with no guests aboard. He was taken to Jasper, and glacier trips were cancelled on 1 and 2 September, with refunds and rebooking offered to anyone caught by it.
Closer to home, a vehicle stopped beneath the crossing arm on Norquay Road on 29 August and was hit by an eastbound train. Both occupants walked away. The road reopened about 85 minutes later.
If you’d rather leave the driving to someone else, the open-top double-decker runs hourly between Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, and Lake Louise parking is included in the fare.
For the opposite of a busy week, Storm Mountain Lodge has no wifi, no fridge and no television - a wood fire, a porch, and elk or smoked duck waiting at the restaurant. It books up, so plan ahead.
