Booking a campsite in the Rockies has started to feel less like planning and more like queuing. 🪶 Morleyville Trail Opens This Weekend. A new interpretive trail at Historic Morleyville opens June 27 with a Pipe Ceremony at noon, sharing Îyârhe Stoney and settler histories of the land. Five years in the making; refreshments after.

🦇 Probiotics Deployed Against Bat Plague. Parks Canada is spreading fungi-fighting bacteria in Jasper caves to slow white-nose syndrome, which can kill 98 per cent of a colony. One Jasper cave counted 69 dead this March, against three in each of the past two years.

⛵ Lake Minnewanka Cruise - If you'd rather take it easy, this hour-long cruise across Banff's largest lake glides towards Devil's Gap over a flooded ghost town below. Bring a windproof jacket - it's far breezier on the water than in town.

💧 Is Takakkaw Falls worth a detour from Banff? Absolutely. It is one of Canada's most dramatic waterfalls, and the trail is flat, short, and suitable for all fitness levels.

🏔️ How does Canmore compare to Banff for family-friendly hiking? Canmore's easy trails are right in town, free to access, and less crowded than Banff's popular routes - making it a genuinely practical choice for families with young children.

👨‍👩‍👧 Is Bankhead Ghost Town a good activity for families with young children? It's one of the more family-friendly spots in Banff - flat, short, and full of things to look at, making the Bankhead Ghost Town walk a great choice for kids.

Firepits, river walks, and a small trading post on site. The most accessible price point of the three, and a solid option for families.
