Hi Everyone! Here's What’s Happening This Week!

Mount Temple is not a walk-up, and the weekend was a reminder of it. A 65-year-old Calgary man slipped and fell on the trail on Saturday evening. Parks Canada visitor safety specialists responded by helicopter and airlifted him to a staging area, where he was pronounced dead.

On a lighter note, Stirling Grill at the Malcolm is setting Old World wines against New World on August 13, with a live cooking competition running alongside the multi-course menu. $175 plus tax, 18 and over.

If you have an afternoon rather than an evening spare, an hour on horseback beside the Bow River near Cave and Basin needs no experience at all, and has you back in town in time to eat.

And if you would rather end the day somewhere quieter, the Lodge at Bow Lake sits alone on the water off the Icefields Parkway. Once the tour buses leave, it is the lake and the glaciers and not much else.
