Hi Everyone! Here's What’s Happening This Week!

A Seattle woman is $1,500 lighter this week after her dog ran loose near Grizzly 142 at Taylor Lake. Hikers reported it, and a park warden then found the footage on her own TikTok, with a matching Strava track. She pled guilty in Canmore court.

Filed under things that presumably seemed reasonable at the time: a plane landed at the closed Banff airstrip near Cascade Mountain on July 28. Parks Canada has cleared the pilot, though the Transportation Safety Board is still looking into it. Only eight occurrences have been logged there since 1990.

If you would rather someone else handled the driving, the Maligne Valley wildlife tour and Spirit Island cruise takes care of transport and timing for the full day, with a shoreline stop at Medicine Lake before the 90-minute boat out.

Long days out are easier when nobody is sleeping on a pull-out. Blackstone's suites in Canmore have full kitchens and separate bedrooms, which means groups and families get their own doors to close, and breakfast does not have to involve a queue.
