A black bear at Rampart Creek Campground took food stored beside a tent in a bag sold as bear-resistant, then came back later when the site was empty. Several black bears are working the area at the moment. If your food storage plan relies on the label rather than the locker, this is the week to rethink it.

At Grassi Lakes, conservation officers have charged thirteen people for entering the closed area. Crews are still reducing rockfall risk after June's Highway 742 slide, and the work is expected to run to mid-August, weather permitting.

🧊 Driving the Icefields Parkway? This Part Needs a Reservation: Ride a massive all-terrain vehicle out onto the Athabasca Glacier, then walk the Skywalk's glass floor 280 metres above the valley. Reserve your spot before you hit the road.
