Hi Everyone! Here's What’s Happening This Week!

WestJet has pulled 198 flights ahead of a possible strike deadline at midnight Sunday, and Calgary is where most Rockies trips begin. Talks are continuing, but nobody is promising a deal. If you are flying this week, check your booking before you check anything else.

Further north, Alberta's proposed West Coast pipeline would cross about seven per cent of Jasper National Park while carrying more than a million barrels a day. The route has recorded six spill incidents since 1966, which is the figure most people will want to sit with.

Jasper is also where the Maligne Valley day trip runs - a shoreline stop at Medicine Lake, reliable wildlife sightings, then a 90-minute cruise to Spirit Island, with the driving and timing handled for you.

And if the week has already been enough, Storm Mountain Lodge offers no wifi, no fridge and no television, just a wood fire, a porch in the trees and elk or smoked duck waiting at the restaurant. It fills up, so book ahead.
